- Al Huda School
Our Tajweed programme follows a traditional curriculum. It is designed around the famous Tajweed text, ‘Al Jazariyyah’ by the 14th Century scholar from Damascus, Imam Shams ad-Deen Muhammad ibn Muhammad Al Jazari. We teach the way of recitation from the chain of Hafs by Asem in the branch of Shatibiya.
Students are taught the points of articulation (makhaarij) and characteristics (sifaat) of each letter as well as the rules of letters (ahkam) and other rules of recitation (qawa’id). Each student is also given the opportunity to recite to a qualified teacher, with an unbroken chain linking back to the Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings be upon him). The course has been designed with the intention of equipping students to become teachers themselves in the future.
Following the completion of the registration process, students will be required to attend an introductory session where they will be assessed in order to be placed in the most appropriate level (detailed below) according to their understanding & application of tajweed rules and ability to recite.
• FOUNDATION LEVEL – This level is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have studied some tajweeed before. On completion of this level students are expected to have developed a basic understanding of the rules of tajweed as well as becoming familiar with the point of articulation and characteristics of each letter of the Arabic alphabet.
